Three-Legged Elephants

There exists a photograph on which Matthew Barley and Julian Joseph can be seen in profile standing behind each other – a two-headed, one-handed, threelegged fabulous creature. Maybe it is the strange proportions of this picture which give the music of this brilliant duo its charming and rugged drive. If a classical cellist, who also improvises on the electric cello, meets a jazz pianist who's been playing in the top league for 20 years, the result is very idiosyncratic music – e.g. the "Dance of the Three-Legged Elephants".
