Master of musical language
András Schiff is one of the world’s leading Beethoven interpreters, and not just by dint of his current recording of the piano sonatas. In the book "Für jeden Ton die Sprache finden …" ("Finding the language for every note....") he has given an account of his work in conversation with Martin Meyer of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and shown himself to be an artist who studies autographs and manuscripts, critically examining every individual work. The result can be experienced in the cyclic performance of the complete sonatas at the Beethovenfest Bonn in 2012 and 2013.
