Special Commission

Two exceptional artists will come together for this concert: Rebecca Saunders, a British composer whose chosen home is Berlin, received the Busoni Förderpreis from the Akademie der Künste Berlin and the Ernst von Siemens Förderpreis for composition. Carolin Widmann is one of the most individual violinists of her generation. She focuses almost exclusively on contemporary music and successfully so! She is accompanied by the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Sylvain Cambreling, both of whom have plenty of experience with world premieres. The orchestra will furthermore perform Gustav Mahler’s fourth symphony together with the soprano Sarah-Jane Brandon.
