Khatia Buniatishvili

Born 1987 in Georgia, Khatia Buniatishvili discovers piano at the age of three years. She gave her first concert with Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra when she was six and appears internationally at the age of ten. She studied in Tbilisi with Tengiz Amiredjibi and in Vienna with Oleg Maisenberg.

She made her U.S. debut at Carnegie Hall in 2008. Since then, she has performed at Hollywood Bowl, iTunes festival, BBC Proms, Salzburg festival, Verbier Festival, Menuhin Festival Gstaad, La Roque d’Anthéron Festival, Klavier-Festival Ruhr and Progetto Martha Argerich.

Among Khatia Buniatishvili’s musical partners are world leading conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Placido Domingo, Kent Nagano, Neeme and Paavo Järvi, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Semyon Bychkov, Myung-Whun Chung, Philippe Jordan and famous orchestras as Israel Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Toronto Symphony, São Paulo State Symphony, China Philharmonic, NHK Symphony, London Symphony, BBC Symphony, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, Filarmonica della Scala, Vienna Symphony, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic and others.

During the last seasons, Khatia Buniatishvili was engaged for different projects: 70th anniversary of United Nations, charity concert in favor of Syrian refugees, charity concert in Kiev in favor of wounded persons in ATO area, ‘to Russia with Love’ concert against violation of Human Rights in Russia, and participated in DLD Women conference. Khatia Buniatishvili collaborated with rock group Coldplay for their last album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’.

Her discography includes Liszt album 2011, Chopin album 2012, ‘Motherland’ 2014, ‘Kaleidoscope’ 2016, as well as Piano Trios with Gidon Kremer and Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė 2011 and violin and piano sonatas with Renaud Capuçon 2014.

Khatia Buniatishvili is two times ECHO Klassik Award winner in 2012 and 2016 for her Liszt album and for ‘Kaleidoscope’.
