Daniel Morales

Dancer and choreographer Daniel Morales was born in Gran Canaria and formed in Urban Dances since 2002. He is director of the Hip Hop Championship of the Canary Islands and member of some educational projects such as ACROSS HIPHOP LPGC led by Natalia Medina. Morales is also member of Tenerife Danza Lab since 2013, a laboratory of contemporary dance that resides in the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martin. Currently his work is based on the search for new languages of movement using urban and contemporary dances for it. Since 2015 Daniel Morales directs an emerging dance company.

Daniel Morales was finalist in the solo contest of the International Contemporary Dance Festival of the Canary Islands 2015 with a special jury mention granting artistic residencies in the Mercat de les Flors and the Choreographic Centre of La Gomera. In 2015 and 2016 he was finalist in the categories solo and group at the Contest of Scenic Creation Urban Dance Hop Festival in Barcelona, where a special jury mention gave him the ability to represent the piece again in the Mercat de les Flors. Daniel Morales was also finalist in the Choreography Contest in the district of Tetuan, Madrid, in April 2016 and received a special jury mention in the category contemporary dance, which led him to an artistic residency in nunART Guinardó.
