Álvaro Esteban

Álvaro Esteban, originally from Madrid, began his dance training at the age of 23 and finished his contemporary dance studies at the Royal Conservatory of Dance in Madrid. He has a Bachelor of Sciences of Sports and Physical Activities and a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage and Sports Massage.

Actually Álvaro Esteban is working as dancer with Daniel Abreu in Madrid and CocoonDance in Bonn. At the same time he is touring internationally with his own works.

Along with Natxo Montero he created ‘Cuadra-T’, one of the finalist pieces at the Choreography Competition in Madrid 2008. Along with Elias Aguirre he created ‘Entomo’, a multi-awarded piece in several competitions. He worked with Carmen Werner in the opera ‘Macbeth’ and in various spanish movies. He already worked for the companies Trasdanza, Larumbe Danza, Tenerife Danza Lab and Centro Coreográfico Galego, where he participated in the productions ‘Kiosco das Almas Perdidas’ by Roberto Olivan and ‘Giseliña’ by Cisco Aznar. With Cisco Aznar he also played the role of Aeneas (dancer) in the opera ‘Dido and Aeneas’ in Lausanne.

From 2006 to 2009 Álvaro Esteban also worked as a guest-teacher at the Sports Sciences and Physical Activity Faculty in Madrid.
