Play it over and over again

Isabelle Faust, Jean-Guihen Queyras and Alexander Melnikov are continuing the comparison of the two composers from Bonn with three piano trios. The bracket with works by Beethoven creates an arc between the inventive first work to the »Archduke Trio« in which Beethoven takes stock of all of the chamber music achievements of this style. Between these two is Schumann’s F major trio, a light-imbued image full of warmth and confident intimacy, about which Clara Schumann gushed: »It is one of Robert’s pieces that warm and delight my soul from beginning to end. I love it with passion and I want to play it over and over again!«
