Brilliant Start
After its celebrated Beethoven symphony cycle at last year’s Beethovenfest the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen will once again be the »orchestra in residence« with three concerts in Bonn in 2010. On the first two evenings the orchestra will compare and contrast Robert Schumann and Ludwig van Beethoven, combining solo works and symphonies. Beethoven’s piano concerto No. 5, his »opus magnum« of this genre, composed in 1809/10, will be performed by Hélène Grimaud, one of the »artists in residence«: on 17 and 22 September she can be heard in two chamber music concerts.
