Harmony on the first note: when Gabriela Montero and Gautier Capuçon met at Martha Argerich’s Lugano Festival 2006, there was no need for many words. In order for them to know that they wanted to work with each other in the future it was enough for them to play music together. This harmony in their musical understanding and temperament has made them an exceptionally successful duo. In Bonn they are presenting Beethoven’s concertante sonata op. 69, a masterpiece of im­pecca­ble harmony of all the elements, paired with two late-Romantic works that impress through their richness of colour.
