Exclusive Summer Nights
Aften it is the appeal of the new that makes unexpected moments possible. When Angelika Kirchschlager gives her debut at the Beethovenfest together with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the audience will be presented with »Nuits d’Eté« full of poetry and warmth. Berlioz’s biggest gift to the song repertoire was originally composed for voice and piano. The orchestral version was largely created quite a long time later. The poems come from the collection »La Comédie de la mort« published in 1838 and written by his friend Théophile Gautier, who lived close by in Paris.
