Elena Guseva
Elena Guseva was born in 1986, in the town of Kurgan in Southwest Siberia. She studied at the Shostakovich College of Music, graduating in 2006 with the Diploma of Excellence. Since 2006 she has been studying at the Moscow Conservatoire of Music, under Galina Pisarenko.
Recent engagements include the role of Eros in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Eurydice with the Kurgan Philharmonic Society Orchestra, a performance at the Svyatoslav Richter Festival of Music in Tarusa, Tatiana Eugene Onegin and Mozart Requiem for the Opera Theater of the Moscow Conservatoire, and regular performances at concert halls throughout Moscow. Elena takes part regularly in masterclasses with singers and artistic advisors including Elizabeth Bice, Richard Bado, Giandomenico Bisi, Gloria Guida Borelli, Diane Zola and Lenore Rosenberg. She has also won several prizes at prestigious vocal competitions including the Silver Voice All-Russian Competition of Young Singers (second prize), the Ningbo Vocal Competition in China, the Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Young Opera Singers (first prize in 2009), the Savonlinna International Singing Competition in Finland, the Francisco Vinas Competition, and she won Third prize at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition.
Since December 2009 Elena has been a "soloist-probationer" of the Stanislavsky Opera in Moscow. Her operatic roles include Tatiana Eugene Onegin; Lidochka in Shostakovich Moscow, Cheremushki; Antonia Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Mimi La Bohème and Mïcaela Carmen.
